TOURNAMENT DAY GUIDE

This guide is for competitors to understand the flow on tournament day. If you have any questions, please email tournament@nabjjf.com.

Note: Doors open at 7:30 AM. No cash accepted at the door for spectators.

1. ARRIVAL & NAME TAG PICKUP

Before entering the venue, please pick up your pre-printed name tag from the table outside. Tags are sorted alphabetically. Proceed to the Front Desk to verify your attendance.

2. FRONT DESK

Check in at the Front Desk and receive a stamp to confirm your attendance. Once verified, proceed to weigh-in.

3. WEIGH-IN STATION

The weigh-in station is located outside of the bullpen area. Please verify your division start time and note the following:

  • Weigh-ins will start 2 hours before and end 30 minutes before your division start time.
  • Weigh-ins must be measured with your competition attire (with GI for GI competitors and with rashguard and shorts for No-Gi competitors).
  • For competitors who signed up for both Gi and No-Gi:
    • If your entries are for the same division, your Gi weigh-in will automatically qualify you for No-Gi.
    • If your entries are for different divisions, you must weigh-in Gi and No-Gi separately.
  • All kids competitors will have a two (2) pound allowance for their weight division. Any weight over the limit will be automatically disqualified.
  • Juvenile and Adult competitors have zero allowance and will be automatically disqualified for not making weight.

4. WHILE YOU WAIT (POST WEIGH-IN)

Congratulations! You are now ready to compete. To track your match start time, please download the SmoothComp app and login to your account, or check the TV monitors for the mat schedule. When you see your name at the top of the schedule list, please make your way to the bullpen and check in with staff. Schedule and times are subject to change, depending on the tournament’s progress.

5. MATCH TIME

Prior to entering the bullpen, please get your gear and attire inspected by our Inspector. Bullpen staff will confirm weigh-in and check-in status. They will direct you to your mat queue where you will be lined up by your assigned mat number. A mat coordinator will lead you to your assigned mat number, where you will conduct your bracket.

6. PODIUM & AWARDS

Bracket winners are escorted to the podium to collect medals and trophies, and an optional opportunity to participate in a post-match interview.
